Star Shaped Cookies and Footprint in the Sand Cookies
This week is a big week for Abraham. He leaves behind everything familiar to him and heads out on an adventure of his own. God promises Abraham that he will have a legacy, children as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sand of the earth. What better way to recreate the adventure with some sugar cookies of our own.
Everyone loves a good sugar cookie! Take our Noah’s Rainbow cookie recipe to make the perfect sugar cookie dough.
Cut out star shapes. Have you kids sprinkle on their favorite color sprinkles. These cookies freeze very well, so they're a great "make ahead" dessert!
To make Abraham’s footprints, use a footprint cookie cutter to cut out footprints. Then sprinkle each cookie with a cinnamon/sugar mixture to give it a “sandy” feeling.
Instead of noodles in your soup this week try some star-shaped pasta! It’s a simple way to add some Parsha to your meal.
And, finally, reward your kids for a great TableTalk discussion or answering TEN thoughtfully with some star-shaped candies or some sliced star-fruit. A great way to end your Shabbat meal.
