Passover Videos

This is my gift to parents everywhere in this pre-Passover season. Here are a collection of kid-friendly Passover videos – perfect to give you just that little bit of extra time to cook, clean or maybe (just maybe) sit down for a quiet cup of coffee.

1. Passover Rhapsody – A Jewish Rock Opera

Aish.com has been making inroads into the world of holiday videos. Each Jewish holiday has been greeted with a cute youtube video and this season is no different. Passover Rhapsody uses puppets and the Queen classic to tell the story of Passover.

2. Shalom Sesame – Les Matzarables

Shalom Sesame does what Sesame Street does best – keeping both parents and children entertained while simultaneously teaching us something. This take on Les Mis (Les Matzarables – adorable!) teaches us about finding the afikomen.

3. Shalom Sesame – Jake Gyllenhaal and the Afikomen

While your kids may not know Jake Gyllenhaal, parents sure do and will love watching Jake looking for the afikomen.

4. Dayenu, Coming Home – The Fountainheads Passover Song

This was last year’s Passover go-to song, but it certainly merits mention here. Great for the “tween” crowd because the song is a mash up of the most popular songs you’re kids are probably listening to anyway.

5. Yes We Canaan – Fountainheads Passover

Fountainheads newest Passover video. Again, better for your tween crowd than younger kids. This video is a cute poppy way to tell the Passover story.

6. Google Exodus – Passover Movie

This is probably the smartest video out there on the story of leaving Egypt. Using social networking as an integral piece in their escape plan, we follow Moses and his miraculous rescue of the Jews in Egypt.

7. Who Let the Jews Out?

This is a completely ridiculous video, but it is good for a pre-Passover giggle.
