A little bit of effort pays off with these painted and colored apples!

Ages 5-8

Materials:

White construction paper
Pencil
Red, yellow and green crayons
Blue and purple watercolor paints
Thick paintbrushes

Directions:

Draw three overlapping apples on your white paper.

Trace the lines of the apples in black crayon. Make sure you press down firmly to make thick lines.

Color in your apples, making sure you press down hard as your color in each apple.

Paint over the apples using blue or purple paints.

(helpful hint: the crayons should resist the paint. Watch the apples become more vibrant!)
