There are a number of variants to this recipe. When I was little, my mother used chow mein noodles, and because they were curly, we called them chocolate spiders. But this finished product looks a lot more like branches – ergo, “chocolate s’chach.” If you like the combining sweet and salty flavors (plus crunchy and chewy), this dessert is bound to be a hit with adults and kids alike!

Ingredients:

  • 10 oz chocolate chips
  • 6 C pretzel sticks
  • 1 C dried cranberries (optional – note: if you omit the cranberries, add another cup of pretzels)

Directions:

1. Melt chocolate chips (I put them in a bowl in high for one minute, stir it and then microwave it again for another 30 seconds)

2. Pour chocolate over pretzels and dried cranberries. Make sure everything is evenly coated.

3. Spread in a single layer on a cookie sheet and refrigerate until firm. Keep refrigerated until you’re ready to serve.

Enjoy!

Variation: Replace the cranberries with ½ cup of salted peanuts.
